Spring is the perfect time of year to try something new, so why not try one of our exciting recreation programs? We offer a wide variety of programs for children, adults, and families, so check out our selection and join in!


Special Events


Easter Eggstravaganza

McPherson Park - April 10; 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Come to your local community park on Friday, April 10, for a fun-filled egg hunt! The event will be for ages 2 through 12 years old. We will have approximately 5,000 plus eggs. Easter Bunny will available for photos! This is a free activity, and preregistration is not required. Rain-date will be the next day.


50th Annual Earth Day

April 18 - 23

Spring will soon be here, Earth Day is around the corner, and flowers will be blooming. The City of Greenville will have various opportunities to celebrate EARTH DAY: Party for the Planet at the Greenville Zoo, the City of Greenville Earth Day Festival, Falls Park Spring Has Sprung Tour, ARBOR Day and water conservation with South Carolina’s Adopt-a-Stream. These are all free events.

Senior Prom presented by  WellCare Health Plans, Inc.

Friday, May 15; 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Join us for the 13th Annual Senior Prom. Adults will enjoy a night with music, food, and dancing held at the Greenville Convention Center. Get your tickets soon, this event sells out each year. The early bird discount tickets are on sale beginning March 23 through April 4 for $25. Regular admission tickets are $30 and $350 for a reserve table of 10.


Youth Programs (ages 3 - 14)


Spring Break Day Camp

Make your Spring Break an Adventure! Looking for a safe, organized, and exciting camp for your children while they're out of school? Campers ages 5-12 will spend their fun-filled days engaged in games, crafts, field trips, and other exciting activities. Registeration is open until filled. Camp runs from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. The camp will be held at McPherson Park – Sears Recreation Center, April 13-April 17.  Register

 
Super Summer Day Camp
Are you ready for summer camp? Online registration for 2020 Summer Camp will begin on Monday March 16, 2020. This 9-week program runs June 8 through August 7 and is offered at each of our four community centers from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.  Campers will learn, play, and grow all summer long while creating new friendships along the way. Spots fill up quickly, so don't hesitate!  Registration is open until all sites are filled.
 
Instructional Soccer (begins March 10)
Our co-ed instructional soccer program provides skill instruction and games for ages 3-5. Practices and non-competitive games are held at Holmes Park on Tuesday evenings or Saturday mornings. Sign up for the U4 program (parent/child) or the U6 program. Registration ends on February 28. Call our Athletics Division at 864-467-8011 for more information. Register

Recreational Soccer (begins March 9)
Our co-ed recreational soccer is for ages 6-10, this program offers a competitive, organized, and fun soccer experience. The 8-week program is for U8 and U10 divisions. Registration ends on February 28. Call our Athletics Division at 864-467-8011 for more information. Register

Track & Field
Runners and throwers ages 6-14 are eligible to participate in this 9-week track and field season. Practices are held Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and track meets are held on Saturdays. Registration ends on February 28. Register

Cops on the Court 
Cops on the Court is an innovative, interactive basketball program in which Greenville Police Department officers, dressed in gym clothes, play basketball with community youth, ages 10-17 years, in an effort to improve community relationships and provide mentoring to at-risk youth. This program takes place at West Greenville Community Center, 8 Rochester Street Greenville, SC. Register
 

Adult Programs (ages 18 & over)

Fitness Boot Camp

Participants will experience a full body strength and conditioning workout which increases your metabolism so you will burn more calories after each class session. Designed for all fitness levels in a safe, supportive and motivational environment. Participants perform exercises individually and as teams. Classes begin March 17 and are held Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. at McPherson Park.  Registration ends on March 20. Register

Mini-Golf League

Ready for a friendly competition? Join us for the Miniature Golf League at McPherson Park. April 28 - May 21 at 6:00 p.m. This organized play will consist of teams of two. Participants must be a minimum age of 6, but each pair must have at least one member 18 years or older. Play will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Registration ends on April 30. Register


Mini-Golf Senior League

Do you love the game of golf? Let's play at the McPherson Park mini-golf course. Adults 55 and over plays each Tuesday, May 5 - July 21, 9:00 a.m .- 11:00 a.m. Top 8 individual scores recorded with prizes for top male & female player. Balls/Scorecards provided. Register at the course!
 
Active Adults Senior Program

For men and women age 55+. From field trips to craft days and so much more, you won't want to miss out on the fun and fellowship that this program offers. Meets Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the David Hellams Community Center.


Adult Softball Leagues

Register your team today! Multiple leagues are available, including Men's Church, Co-ed Recreation, and Men's Recreation. The season begins the week of March 16 and all games will be played at Gower Park. Registration ends on March 6.  Register


Spring Restorative Yoga Series

Slow down, unwind, and give yourself a full-body reset with this soothing yoga class. Postures will be held for an extended amount of time with props. Restorative yoga offers quiet space to nourish the body and bring clarity to the mind. Everything you need for your yoga class will be provided. Anne and Maria have over 500 hours of guiding yoga students through healing and mindful yoga experiences and look forward to seeing you on the mat! Beginning on March 5 - April 9 ,each Thursday at McPherson Park Log Cabin. Registration is open until filled. Call 864-467-4326 for more information.
