Chick Springs Road, from Wade Hampton Boulevard to Rutherford Road, is scheduled to be resurfaced using a process called Cement Modified Recycled Base (CMRB), which involves mixing the existing asphalt and subgrade with cement to make the road base stronger. After the CMRB is complete, the concrete will be allowed to cure with a temporary chip seal surface coat and then a traditional asphalt surface will be placed on top.
Weather permitting, the work will begin on Monday at the Rutherford end and is expected to take approximately two weeks. Hours of construction will be from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day. While only one lane of traffic will be closed, please use caution when driving in this area and be aware of traffic control signage and flagmen.
